Previously I have really enjoyed staying here and the staff are friendly, the spa is great, restaurant is a bit overpriced for what it is but that’s kind of standard with such venues. I often visit the day spa but as a special treat booked an overnight stay as it was a celebration for me and my partner. We were given the cabin in the garden which seemed lovely to start with but it was exceptionally cold at night and the heating didn’t work, it would only blow cold air which wasn’t helpful. In the morning we figured we’d at least warm up with a hot bath but that was also an obtainable as the water was taped at best even after leaving it to run for a long time. I don’t remember the exact figure but somewhere between *** was spent and I was quite disappointed, I did mention it to the staff when settling up but there was no offer of recompense. I then emailed the venue afterwards to let them know of my dissatisfaction, it’s quite a lot of money to spend for one night if you are low Income and also suffer from health condition as I do. I suggested that perhaps they could reimburse me some of the fee at least or offer some kind of voucher for the spa or something but never received any reply. As I said, I’ve had great experiences at the venue before so wouldn’t necessarily want to put anyone off either, I think the heating in the house itself is better and as they go the spa facilities are pretty good. The staff also are all really lovely, but this was a disappointing experience.

We had a lovely stay at Charlton House. Our room was enormous with a lovely bathroom. Spa facilities were great too.

Booked as was looking for a local nice hotel with spa facilities that wasn’t too expensive. Was really nice, quirky little room in the eves, spa was good however quite small. Staff all very attentive and professional. Would go again

Very disappointed with our stay we have been coming here for years and got married here but it seems since the new owners the place has really gone downhill.it seems as though there are not enough staff or staff that care enough for the customers.on arrival the bathrobes were ripped and told at reception to go to spa and change them ourselves.the restaurant was awful wine was out of stock and by the time they had managed to sort our drinks which was over an hour later we had eaten our starters and main course which was a big let down and then given a bill for a service charge was a joke .the breakfast was self service which paying the amount of money you would not expect or for the star rating the hotel is .all in all the place is not what it was and really disappointed.
