We took our 1.5 yrs old, and this place allows us to relax and unwind. The room is spacious with a living room. Location is great, close to downtown and the zoo. Everything is wonderful and we will go back.

Conveniently located between Johnson City and the Hye/Stonewall area and not to far from Fredericksburg. The on-site winery, brewery and restaurant are excellent. The food is great and they also serve the beers and wines from their own facilities. The suites are very spacious and have a separate bedroom and living area as well as an outside porch. All staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. We have stayed in many places in this area over the years and now this is our go-to place to stay.

I had a great experience. Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed to the maximum. The place is awesome, has everything you need and everyone is so nice. I highly recommend and I will definitely go back very soon. Thank you for everything.

We spent the 4th of July weekend at Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by staff that was not only professional but genuinely kind and accommodating — a refreshing change from many resorts.
Despite the unexpected rain all weekend, the team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and still had a memorable experience. Whether it was helping with last-minute reservations or offering thoughtful suggestions for indoor activities, their attentiveness made all the difference.
The amenities were top-notch — cozy yet upscale rooms, a beautiful tasting room with spectacular wine flights, and a fitness center that actually feels like a gym. But what truly surprised us was the food — every meal we had was excellent. From the hearty breakfasts to the elegant dinners, everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The on-site restaurant was a standout.
Even with the rain, Carter Creek delivered a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and we’re already planning to return — hopefully with a bit more sunshine next time! Highly recommend for a romantic getaway, a weekend with friends, or just a peaceful escape in Texas wine country.
