10 min walk from train station. There is a Coop store in 5 min walk. 1 bed room apartment is good size. Has kitchen and cooker. Big bathroom. Room size is good. Value for money.

The room is exceptional: it has a cooking stove and pots and pans and dishes, also a refrigerator, coffee maker (with capsules), bathroom with shower, even a balcony. But checking in, using their automated system in the entryway, was difficult: I first typed in the reservation number that Agoda gave me, but the hotel was expecting a different code number (really: letters) that it sent me by e-mail (written in German and in fine print) and I had to start typing again and put in all my personal details before it would let me place a key card on its sensor to encode it.
I arrived by train and left by train the next day; the hotel is a short walk from the train station but I had to ask for directions before I found it.
From Buchs you can walk across the bridge over the Rhine River and visit Liechtenstein: a whole different country!
