We stayed as a group of five across two rooms and were really impressed. The rooms were warm, inviting, and comfortable, with a lovely attention to detail. The pub itself is in a gorgeous setting overlooking the Manifold Valley, with beautiful garden planting and a charming terrace. The drinks selection was excellent, especially the real ales and well-priced wines. The highlight, however, was the food—every dish, from dinner to breakfast, was outstanding: imaginative, beautifully presented, and full of flavour.

We stayed as a group across two rooms and were thoroughly impressed by our experience at The Black Lion. The pub is in a beautiful village location with a lovely garden and terrace overlooking the valley. The food was truly outstanding—both dinner and breakfast were among the best we've had anywhere, with real flair and attention to detail. The drinks selection is also excellent, with some great ales and well-chosen wines. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly service throughout. The bed in this room was a little on the small side for a double, though the room itself was spacious and very comfortable.
