Stayed for 3 nights. there was a problem with the lock on the door but it was fixed immediately. Had a lovely room overlooking the park. Staff are the nicest I have ever met anywhere. So genuine and helpful. Is noisy with the outside traffic but they provide earplugs. The inside noise annoyed me more, housekeeping are hovering loudly outside your door from 9am. I didn't hear any noise from other rooms but a lot of door slamming and noise in the hallway. The hotel is very safe and clean and I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

A male receptionist was reluctant to allocate us a room upstairs and, according to him, the only option was a double room on the -1 floor. He told me that I didn't make any requests regarding a high-floor room in my booking, but I did. I showed him my email confirming the room booking and the request for a high-floor room. He kept telling me that it was subject to availability and that it was too late to fulfil my request. Then a female receptionist, his colleague on that shift, intervened to tell me she had found a double-bed room on a high floor, and we stayed there. I thanked her twice for sorting out the problem. I did it during check-in and check-out. Breakfast is really good, and the room was cleaned and odourless. All facilities are good.

This was a new hotel for me but I was willing to take a chance given the very reasonable price. It was much further out than anticipated and wasn't near any shops or takeaways etc so I was a bit disappointed as after a long day I didn't want to trek out again. On the plus side the bus the next morning got me quickly back to the central Finsbury Park area and I had a good night's stay in a very decent sized room. I'd recommend bringing in food to eat and snacks etc as the hotel only does basic soft drinks and snacks. They are however happy to allow takeaway delivery and eating this in your room. A good choice if you don't mind being further out and away from amenities.
