Sean (sp?) at the front was just a great dude. Friendly, well-spoken and was great chatting with him for a bit. The motel is off a busy road, you'll hear the traffic throughout the night. Room 207 was right above the lobby, so we could hear people going in and out could smell the cigs down below. AC needs cleaning, has a smell to it when on fan mode. Room was clean, bed had a slight slant but overall easy stay and can't beat the price.

My husband and I wanted to try this motel out because he grew up in the area and it had some really nice reviews. Checking in was easy and the gentleman at the desk was nice. They have a store with a large variety of items which was really nice.
We got into our room and it was very spacious and clean. The bedding was dated and there was a stale cigarette smoke smell, but we were surprised the room was so spacious, with a large fridge, kitchenette, and dinette.
We were in the room for approximately an hour when someone tried to enter the room. We were getting ready to answer the door when the man from the front desk opened the door. My husband yelled for him to get out. This was very frightening and disturbing. I immediately felt unsafe and started shaking. I called the front desk and the man said “there is a problem with your room and you need to come out to the desk.” Then he hung up. At this point I am thinking a gas leak or carbon monoxide poisoning but when we went out to the desk he said we were placed in the wrong room. I asked why he entered our room and he said because we did not answer the door so he had to used the emergency key. He then stated we could return to our room and enjoy our stay.
There was no chain on the door so after this incident every thing felt unsafe and shady. I was not sure why placing us in the wrong room would justify him entering the room without our permission. We didn’t ask to be put in that room, they assigned it to us and a phone-call to the room would have been more effective and professional. I tried to chalk it up to inexperience and panic.
The next day we noticed several people hanging out outside of the hotel smoking and talking/yelling. You can tell they have several long term guests.
I booked and paid in full through a third party. The second day I checked my bank account and noticed I had an unauthorized charge from the motel for $102. I went to the desk and the man said it was for the room because I had never paid. He was very defensive as was I because this charge was never mentioned to me during check in. I was only given a receipt to sign for the $50 room deposit. I informed him I paid in full and showed him my email confirmation. He then refunded the $102. It felt like they charged me to make up for the loss of placing us in the wrong room. We would have gladly changed rooms if we weren’t in the right room but we’re never asked to.
He did apologize and offered to let us have an item from the store “on the house.” We ended things on a good note, but I don’t think I would ever feel comfortable or safe staying there again.
